Northern Territory Youth Week Ambassadors

The Ambassadors for Northern Territory Youth Week (NTYW) play a huge part in the success of the initiative. Ambassadors:

• are young people aged 15 to 25 years
• receive the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, get involved in community life and have their say on important topics impacting young Territorians
• play a key role in the coordination and promotion of NT Youth Week
• attend the many events occurring during NT Youth Week
• represent the ideas and concerns of young Territorians
• work in collaboration with the Office of Youth Affairs and in an advisory role with stakeholders
• develop skills in media and public speaking, leadership, event coordination and promotion, project management, team building and networking.

Applications to become a 2027 NT Youth Week Ambassador are currently open and close at 11:59pm ACST on Friday 11 September 2026.

Who can apply

The NT Youth Week Ambassador program is open to all young people residing in the Northern Territory, passionate about making a difference in their community, and aged between 15 and 25 years.

Ambassadors are representative of the geographic, cultural, and ethnic diversity of the Territory.

Ambassadors are required to be available in the lead up to and during NT Youth Week 2027 (2 – 14 April 2027) and required to attend meetings (face-to-face or online) as part of the learning, planning, and promotion of NT Youth Week.

Selection of ambassadors will consider the skills required for the role and will reflect the diversity of young Territorians, including geographic, age and cultural representation.

To become a NT Youth Week Ambassador, a young person must be:

• between 15 and 25 years
• passionate about getting involved in community life
• willing to use their voice to represent the views and interests of young Territorians
• willing to support the coordination and promotion of NT Youth Week
• interested in building your professional skills
• interested in being the ‘public face’ of the event for the Northern Territory.
