Sitting fees

We value your expertise and pay our members sitting fees for their participation during the in-person meetings.

The Office of Youth Affairs covers the cost of the following:

  • all travel for members outside of Darwin, Palmerston and the rural region
  • accommodation
  • meals and meeting expenses for the 4 in-person meetings in Darwin.

The only cost to you is your time and commitment to attend each meeting.

Time and commitment

Members will need to be available for the 4 in-person meetings and 6 online videoconferences.

In-person meetings will require you to stay overnight at the accommodation provided (one night for local members and 3 to 4 nights for members from regional areas, depending on flight availability).

The 2027 in-person meetings are tentatively scheduled for March, June, September and December.

How applications are assessed

For 30 years, the Round Table has provided over 450 young Territorians with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, advocate for young Territorians on issues of importance and consult with Northern Territory Government ministers and senior executives.

We receive a large number of applications each year and this is step one in the application process. If you are feeling overwhelmed or unsure when completing the form, please contact the Office of Youth Affairs so we can support you.

Once you complete the form, the Office of Youth Affairs will review your application. If your application is successful, we will invite you to an interview at a time that suits you.

After the interview process, it may take a few weeks for us to advise you of the outcome of your application.
