NT Youth Round Table roles and responsibilities

The Northern Territory Youth Round Table is an independent advisory group to the Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality and the NT Government.

Members engage in consultation with:

• various government agencies
• community groups and
• other organisations.

Consultations

Members consult and advise various government departments, community groups and other organisations on key initiatives and strategies.

Community-based projects

Members have the opportunity to lead a community-based project throughout their 12-month term.

The project is on a topic that they identify is of significant importance to themselves and their community.

The project includes researching, engaging in consultations with their community, executing the project, and summarising their findings and recommendations into a project report or presentation.

The culmination of the Round Table is a presentation where a diverse audience, including ministers, senior public servants and relevant stakeholders are invited to attend.

During this event, members present their community-based projects, share their recommendations, and discuss youth-related issues that they are deeply passionate about.
