Celebrating excellence: 2025 NT Sports Awards finalists revealed

The finalists for the 2025 NT Sports Awards have been announced, celebrating the remarkable dedication, skill, and achievements of athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers across the Northern Territory.

With more than 80 nominations received, this year’s finalists showcase the incredible depth of talent and commitment within the NT’s sporting community.

A total of 26 finalists have been named across nine categories, recognising excellence in sports performance, coaching, officiating, and community contribution.

One of the most prestigious awards of the night, Sportsperson of the Year, honours an athlete who has delivered outstanding performances on the national or international stage while proudly representing the Northern Territory.

2025 Sportsperson of the Year finalists:

Alannah Joyce (Judo) – The reigning 2024 NT Sportsperson of the Year, Alannah continues to dominate Australian judo, earning multiple international medals and proving herself as a world-class competitor.

Macey Sheridan (Swimming) – A rising star in Australian swimming, Macey made waves at the 2024 Country Swimming Championships, where she secured 12 gold medals, solidifying her place as one of the country’s top young talents.

Marc Woods (Athletics) – Demonstrating that endurance has no age limit, Marc conquered the gruelling 231km West Macs Monster Sonder Ultra, securing a well-earned victory in one of the toughest ultra-trail events.
