Territory talent celebrated at 2026 NT Performing Arts Awards
The Northern Territory's performing arts community has been recognised at the 2026 NT Performing Arts Awards, celebrating the artists, performers, educators, producers and arts workers who make an outstanding contribution to the Territory's cultural life.
Presented as part of this year's Darwin Festival program, the awards marked the first year of a partnership between the NT Performing Arts Awards and Darwin Festival, creating a new platform to celebrate and showcase Territory talent. More than 100 nominations were received, with 32 finalists shortlisted across the award categories.
The event also featured the presentation of the inaugural Ted Egan Regional Award, named in honour of the former Northern Territory Administrator, musician and author. The award recognises significant contributions to the performing arts in regional and remote communities and was awarded to Central Australian artist Gleny Rae.
The awards coincided with the launch of the NT Arts Strategy Action Plan 2026-2030, the first 5-year action plan supporting delivery of the NT Arts Strategy 2034 and outlining practical actions to strengthen arts and culture across the Territory.
