DPSC at the Welcome to the Top End expo
DPSC staff took part in the Welcome to the Top End expo earlier this month, joining Defence Member and Family Support and a range of local organisations to help new Defence families and members settle into life in the Territory.
The event brought together community groups, sporting clubs and support services, giving newcomers a chance to explore what is available and start building connections in Darwin.
Our department was represented by:
- CEO Samantha Livesley
- Ben Poveda Alfonso from the Office of Youth Affairs
- Annette Rudd from Veterans Engagement and Support
- Executive Director Social Inclusion Siobhan Okely
- Anthony Hazeldine from Pathways Services
- Partnerships Officer Lucy Berk.
They spent the day sharing information about the programs and services we deliver across the NT and helping new arrivals feel welcomed into the community.
Their involvement helped highlight the support DPSC provides to young people, veterans, families and communities and reinforced the important role our staff play in connecting people to the Territory.
