National Volunteer Week

Thank you, volunteers - National Volunteer Week 2025.

This National Volunteer Week (20 to 26 May), we say thank you to the thousands of volunteers who help deliver programs, support communities and bring people together across the Northern Territory.

Volunteers play an essential role in sport, the arts, cultural festivals, libraries, museums and inclusion programs. Their contribution helps make the Territory a stronger, more connected and more inclusive place.

We’re proud to support the Australian Sports Commission’s Three Cheers for Volunteers campaign - including a new interactive digital map where local sports volunteers can be profiled and celebrated as community heroes. Explore the map and add your own stories: Discover local heroes.

We also encourage you to get behind the Australian Government’s Hanging Out to Help Out campaign, which aims to inspire more young people to volunteer. Campaign resources are available at volunteering.gov.au.
