Arts NT
Arts NT is a business unit within the Department of People, Sport and Culture that develops, grows and promotes the creative arts sector, because a strong and vibrant arts, culture and creative sector is integral to the development of healthy and thriving communities.
Arts NT:
- delivers the NT Arts Grants Program
- gives advice
- develops partnerships to leverage opportunities
- provides financial and infrastructure support for the arts
- takes part in national arts and culture policy working groups, research and evaluation projects
- leads collaborative projects across the NT Government to make sure the NT's position on a national scale is strengthened and supported.
NT Arts Grants Program
The Arts Grants Program offers various grants for projects that explore, develop and profile arts and culture in the NT.
These grants s provide opportunities to:
- employ and develop artists and arts workers
- increase access to and participation in arts and culture across the NT
- strengthen professional practice, leadership and career development
- develop new work and enable experimentation, innovation and creative risk-taking
- profile, showcase and celebrate NT artists and arts and culture.
The Arts Grants Program supports the NT Arts Strategy 2034 by contributing to the strategy's priorities:
- empower – creating new work, building skills, strengthening leadership capability
- connect – increasing participation, inclusion and regional engagement
- enrich – supporting exhibitions, performances, touring, promotion and market development.
